Chemistry
Beloit College
The study of chemistry provides an atomic and molecular basis for understanding the world. The department's philosophy is that students should learn chemistry by doing what chemists actually do, using sophisticated instruments and techniques from the start, gaining molecular-level insight into the macroscopic behavior of materials and facility in symbolic representation. The degree requires a minimum of 31 units of Beloit credit; Beloit uses course units rather than semester credit hours.
