Graduate work in chemical engineering trains students to apply mathematics and the physical, chemical, and biological sciences to systems involving chemical reactions, transport phenomena, and materials/energy transformations, and to the development of new processes and materials. Students complete core coursework, research rotations, a candidacy exam, and a thesis with final defense.
