The Associate in Arts degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a senior institution in order to pursue a course of study in the liberal arts or a specialized professional field. The following outline of General Education Core requirements should be completed after consultation with an advisor and with consideration of the academic requirements of the transfer-receiving institution. Students should become familiar with the Alabama Transfers Program, formerly “STARS,” Statewide Transfer and Articulation Reporting System, which provides very specific information about the requirements in each subject AREA for a given transfer institution. The Alabama Transfers website can be accessed at https://alabamatransfers.com. Students are responsible for knowing the requirements of the institution to which they plan to transfer. Faculty advisors and academic success coaches are available to help students develop a career path and a plan for graduation from Central Alabama Community College.
