American Studies majors describe the interdisciplinary field of American studies, including both its history over the last century and its most compelling current questions, including questions of culture, politics, race, gender, sexuality, disability, and class. Students connect the three areas essential to the interdisciplinary project of American studies: history, representation, and structures and institutions. The major consists of 13 courses.
