Classical Studies

Classical Studies majors describe essential knowledge of the classical world, including classical governmental systems, the rise and fall of ancient empires, Greek and Roman mythology, and classical literary genres. Students translate and analyze Latin and/or Greek texts in the original languages up to at least the upper-intermediate level. The major consists of ten courses, with Greek, Latin, or Classical Civilization emphases. The degree requires 32 courses (not semester credit hours).
