East Asian Studies

East Asian Studies majors identify a research topic of importance to the field, analyze and critically evaluate scholarship, and communicate proficiently in the target language at the ACTFL level of intermediate low. Students discuss the fact that East Asia, China, and Japan are geographic, cultural, economic, political, and social areas characterized by both shared patterns and great diversity. The major consists of 13 courses. The degree requires 32 courses (not semester credit hours).
