Emergency Medical Technician
East Mississippi Community College
This course is designed to prepare technicians to become members of the health team, responding to medical emergency calls, evaluating the nature of the emergency, taking prompt action to reduce medical hazards, transporting to the receiving station, and serving as technical assistant to hospital emergency room staff. The curriculum consists of classroom and clinical experience, with eight semester hours credit awarded, and graduates are eligible to take the National Registry Examination.
