The purpose of the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree program is to prepare men and women for the role of the registered nurse, competent to function as a professional and valuable member of the health care team. The program is a 62-hour program consisting of 26 hours of general academic classes and 36 hours of nursing classes, accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and graduates are eligible to apply for the NCLEX-RN examination.
