Realtime Closed Captioning / CART Certificate

The Certificate of Completion in Realtime Closed Captioning / CART, or Communication Access Realtime Translation, prepares students to be CART assistants to hearing-impaired clientele, or work in captioning services. Students learn realtime accuracy in addition to skills in stenography; transcription; notetaking; audiovisual recording; courtroom etiquette; how to identify verbal and non-verbal cues; listening and interpreting; editing; and public speaking skills.
