The Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing is a 60-credit-hour curriculum designed to prepare a student to become a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Upon program completion, the Associate Degree Nursing graduate is eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensure examination. Nursing is a service to individuals, families, and to the community. The individual nurse has science-based competencies and skills to assist people, sick or well, to cope with their health needs.
