Veterinary technicians (veterinary nurses) perform a wide range of duties on a day-to-day basis. They provide essential nursing care to hospitalized patients by administering medications, placing IV catheters, performing diagnostic imaging and many other advanced skills. By employing observational skills and interpreting body language veterinary technicians are able to recognize subtle changes in patient status allowing the veterinarian to adjust treatment appropriately.
