Paraprofessional Education
New River Community and Technical College
The Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) program in Paraprofessional Education, developed in cooperation with other community and technical colleges in West Virginia, is designed to meet the needs of public-school aides who wish to upgrade skill levels but do not wish to complete the associate degree program. In the classroom, education paraprofessionals facilitate educational instruction and provide direct or indirect supervision of students under the direction of a classroom teacher.
