The Ironworkers Local 86 apprenticeship program is a special opportunity at North Seattle College for hands-on training in a field that helps students land a well-paid job while in training. Ironworkers erect the structural framework for high rise buildings, bridges, power plants and towers, and place reinforcing steel in concrete forms. Apprenticeship combines classroom studies with on-the-job training under the supervision of a journey-level craftsperson.
