The purpose of the Certificate in Lay Ecclesial Ministry is to provide students with a course of study in the area of the foundations of Catholic theology and ministry. This course of study constitutes a partial fulfillment of the requirements for archdiocesan professional certification of lay ecclesial ministers, particularly for those who have a Bachelor's degree in a discipline other than theology or ministry but who are seeking advanced certification levels for ministry.
