The baccalaureate Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The program's principal educational goal is to prepare students for beginning generalist social work practice. Completion of the degree requirements does not guarantee licensure, but graduates are qualified to take the examination to become a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of Texas. A secondary goal is to prepare students for graduate Social Work education.
