The purpose of the SWTX Vocational Nursing Program is to prepare graduate vocational nurses as beginning practitioners who are competent and self-directed to function under the supervision of the registered nurse or physician. The primary role of the entry-level graduate of a vocational nursing program is to provide nursing care in structured health care setting for individual clients who are experiencing common, well-defined health problems with predictable outcomes.
