Medical Scribe

Medical scribes work closely with medical practitioners to document patient visits and to support work flow for documentation and medical record coding. This certificate includes medical terminology, basic anatomy, CMS Core Measures, basics of coding, documentation requirements, HIPAA compliance, and training in the use of the electronic health record. Students who complete this program may be eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Scribe Apprentice (CMSA) credential.
