Instrumentation is the science of measurement and control, including the variables of process control such as pressure, level, temperature and flow rates. These variables are used in all automated processes in power generation, oil refineries, chemical plants, food processing, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, building environmental control and more. Instrumentation is a vital part of any production or manufacturing plant, and it is the job of an instrument technician to keep these systems running.
