The Doctor of Philosophy in Information and Library Science is a research degree whose purpose is to educate scholars capable of addressing problems of scholarly consequence in the field. Each student develops a program of studies tailored to individual interests and career goals, including a seminar on research issues and questions and an appropriate sequence of courses in statistics, with opportunities to develop teaching skills through coursework and teaching experience.
