The master of science in mathematics requires at least two semesters of residency credit, demonstrated computer programming ability, satisfactory performance in 30 hours of approved graduate work with at least 15 hours in Department of Mathematics courses numbered 600 or above, a master's project or thesis, an oral examination, and passage of one of the written comprehensive exams given to doctoral students.
