Periodontology

The periodontology program is designed to prepare dentists to enter the clinical practice of periodontics or to work in academics and research. It consists of a 36-month course of study leading to a certificate in periodontics and a master of science degree conferred by the UNC Graduate School. The curriculum covers prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the supporting tissues of the teeth, with a primary focus on clinical skills in periodontology and implantology.
