Romance Languages and Literatures

Students may apply directly to the Ph.D. program in Romance studies having completed their bachelor's degree and work toward what is referred to as a "Shadow M.A." that they would receive en route to the Ph.D. after satisfactorily completing all second-year requirements. Each Romance studies graduate program offers advanced training in literary, linguistic, and cultural aspects of the Romance world with a strong interdisciplinary orientation.
