The University of Puget Sound's Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed to prepare educators in the liberal arts tradition who are able to make knowledgeable decisions about their professional practice. Candidates develop the capacity to consider teaching and learning from multiple perspectives, to build on the strengths and address the needs of diverse learners, and to navigate the complexity of schools. The Master of Arts in Teaching qualifies graduates for teacher certification.
