Embedded Certificate in Prisoner Reentry and Community Corrections
University of West Georgia
Reentry is a broad term used to refer to issues related to the transition of offenders from prison to community supervision. Nationwide, 700,000 people are released from correctional custody every year with a 68% recidivism rate within the first three years. Current reentry programs advocate for solutions that will help people returning from prison obtain employment, connect with their families, and rejoin their communities in an effort to reduce this recidivism rate.
