Recognizing the diverse and important role of mathematics, the Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a very flexible Master of Arts in Mathematics program built on a core of basic courses and a wide range of specialized electives. Students complete Linear Algebra, at least one of six core courses, the Graduate Math Seminar, and seven elective courses, with a thesis option available in place of two courses.
