Principles of Livestock Genetics

This course focuses on the fundamental principles of genetics and their application to animals. The physical basis of Mendelian inheritance, expression and interaction of genes, gene frequency, linkage, sex linkage, inbreeding, line breeding, and crossbreeding as applied to selection indices for livestock are examined.
