The purpose of this course is to introduce concepts of mental health and mental illness throughout the lifespan with consideration given to therapeutic communication and the implementation of safe, quality nursing care to clients and their families. Focus is on the roles of the nurse as caregiver, educator, counselor, advocate, and care manager.
