The purpose of this course is to provide nursing students an in-depth exploration of forensic nursing concepts and principles related to caring for the victim and survivor of sexual violence from a population health care perspective with a cultural emphasis. A spectrum of compassionate care incorporating cultural understanding and respect that is cognizant from assault to post trauma aftermath including life-long sequelae and its prevention is utilized.
