The purpose of this course is to introduce HCOP students to the practice of veterinary pharmacy. Veterinary-specific laws and regulations will be discussed, including special requirements for veterinary prescriptions. Species differences in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenomics will be discussed, along with common disease states and pharmacologic treatments.
