Registration Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months’ work experience in current classification and hold a current Radiation Safety certification to register for this course. The objective is to equip technicians with a strong understanding of the principles and procedures needed to ensure quality construction of various earthwork and base courses. Topics covered include: Contractor & ALDOT Responsibilities Soil Properties How to Identify Classes of Soil Materials Collecting Field Samples Soil and Aggregate Density Pass/Fail Criteria What to Do in Case of Failure Best Practices Note: The Radiation Safety course is a prerequisite for this course.
