Understanding Learners in Developmental Education Contexts

This course identifies the evolution, characteristics, demographics, and needs of learners in Developmental Education contexts. Emphasis is placed on understanding internal factors, including the cognitive, affective, and psychosocial needs of students, as well as on analyzing external factors, including the social, political and institutional forces that impact learners' educational experiences.
