Deep foundations include driven piles, drilled shafts, micropiles, and auger cast in place piles. The course will cover bearing/axial capacity, settlement, pile group effects, and lateral capacity of the various foundation types. Additional topics include subsurface exploration and analysis of pile behavior using wave equation analysis.
