Goals: Students will develop skills to write academic research papers. Students will develop their citing, quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing skills, and learn APA format for external sources. They will learn to integrate source information into their essays. Objectives: Students will write 2 research papers of 500-750 words.

International students. Develops critical writing skills related to academic coursework. Students acquire key organizational concepts germane to academic writing including essay construction, patterns of organization, and a basic tool kit of attribution strategies and organizational concepts.

Students develop the skills and strategies for academic literacy, including critical and complete a written review of research literature.

Practice in the writing necessary in various academic disciplines.

A practical orientation to international business and cultural issues to prepare selected Texas A&M students for the international marketplace; joint effort among all colleges at Texas A&M; designed to complement any academic major by helping students gain a global perspective of their chosen field of study.

This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals, nomenclature, equipment, and calculations both DC and AC electricity and circuits commonly used in modern manufacturing environments. Topics include electricity, electrical components, electrical circuits, electrical measurements and calculations, and basic digital operations. Basic skills will also be obtained in the use of electrical tools, test instruments, and hands-on soldering.

For Music majors and minors. An auditioned mixed vocal ensemble performing choral works representative of all periods and genres. Each number may be duplicated for credit for a total of four (4) semester hours.

Accelerated introduction to academic writing, critical reading, and research questions. Focuses on research questions and techniques, as well as critical engagement with published and student texts.

This course applies advanced programming concepts and techniques to data structures such as linear and linked list trees, records, files, and database. Sequential and random access file processing methods; searching and sorting methods. Laboratory assignments will be done in a high- level, object-oriented language. This course does not count toward a graduate degree in CIS.
