This course will introduce students to computerized accounting systems using QuickBooks. Students will set up and perform routine tasks such as recording business transactions, maintaining customer and vendor files, vouchering, controlling inventory, processing sales, maintaining fixed asset and depreciation schedules, and preparing payroll. Additional procedures covered include setting up a chart of accounts, summarizing data, generating financial reports and banking transactions.

This advanced course immerses students in the process, mindset, and methods of the account planner. Students learn to connect data, empathy, and creative thinking to define brand problems, uncover human truths, and inspire creative strategy. PW: Executive Systems

Concepts in account planning; gathering and analyzing data (database analysis, focus groups, interviews, surveys); compilation of research into a situation analysis and creative brief for use in a national advertising case competition.

Nonprofit accounting, financial reporting theory, related ethical issues, and the Single Audit Act. Credit will not be allowed for ACCT 4610 and ACCT 6610.
