This course explores contemporary Hispanic culture through visual representations. The course analyzes many films that reflect and represent the social, political, and cultural changes in the Hispanic world. By analyzing cinema and artistic representations, along with selected critical articles on film theory, the course examines women’s roles in society, domestic violence, migration, social problems, globalization, unemployment, and the crisis, among other topics.
