Provides the student with the ability to blend the virtual and real design worlds together through the use of 3D Scanning, 3D CAD Modeling, and 3D Printing.

This course is designed for those who are involved in a structured employment situation that is directly related to the field of drafting and design and is coordinated with the drafting instructor. Students must spend at least five (5) hours per week per credit hour in an activity planned and coordinated jointly by the instructor and the employer. Upon completion, students will have gained valuable work experience in a well-planned, coordinated training/work situation.

The methods, theory, and applications employed to develop 3D objects in the GIS environment. This course covers raster conversion of vector data, grid surface, terrain and hydrological modeling, statistical surfaces, view-shed analysis, distance and density surfaces, and 3D or 4D visualizations.

This advanced course is designed to cover concepts involved in the digital application characteristics, digital lighting concepts and design, and rendering methods. The importance elements of color, camera and light are goals of aesthetic integration.

Exposes students to 3D scanning and modeling. Students will manipulate various types of 3D scanning technology and create CAD models using scanning software and other CAD programs. Note: CCD does not offer CAD 2400. Please see your advisor for more information.

Introduces 3D model creation and editing, rendering and animation using the AutoDesk 3DS Max software. Focuses on 3D geometry, texture mapping, lighting, camera placement, shading, photo-realistic rendering, animation techniques, and walk through animations.

In this class, students will learn techniques to design for 3D printing using a 3D modeling program. Students will also be able to manipulate STL files after receiving instruction on a software program such as “Materialise”.

for digital animation, 3D design, or game development. Emphasis is placed on creating an original concept, storyboarding, and post-production processing. The student will document each stage of the project's development. The project will be presented for critique and evaluation at each of the developmental stages.
