An introduction to aphasia, traumatic brain injury, right hemisphere disorder, dementia, dysarthria, and apraxia.

An intermediate level painting course exploring visual expression through the use of combined media and art forms, and developing their ability to engage with critical concepts of specific concern to the discipline of painting. Studio discipline and research leading to resolved works will prepare students for self-directed work in advanced painting classes.

This course explores the foundations of acting through an understanding of basic techniques including scene study, script analysis, improvisation, and physical and vocal work. Offered every semester.

This course focuses on methods and techniques of acting, script analysis and character development. Performance of monologues, scenes, and/or short dramas.

Study and practice of acting in verse drama, concentrating on the particular demands of Shakespeare's works. As works studied rotate depending on semester, this course may be repeated for a maximum of 6 credit hours.

Study and practice of acting styles from 1900 to the present, concentrating on classical comedy, high comedy, situation comedy and acting for the camera. As playwrights studied vary semester to semester, this course may be repeated for a maximum of 6 credits.

Advanced acting techniques and approaches to performance, including work from non-traditional texts and styles (non-Realism, non-Western, avant-garde) and non-Stanislavsky-based acting techniques. Focuses on intensive scene work and complex character challenges.

Course focuses on an actor’s training with classical material, including advanced scene and monologue work from various classical and period plays, especially those involving verse and heightened language. Special attention will be paid to Shakespearean textual analysis and scene work.

Participation as an actor in a mainstage (fully realized, funded, technically supported, and academically supervised) theatre production. May be repeated for a maximum of 8 credits.
