This course focuses on the multi-faceted roles of the advanced nurse. Professional concepts related to advanced nursing practice and its competencies will be discussed.

This course provides theoretical and clinical knowledge foundations to transition licensed practical or vocational nurses (LPN/LVN) and certified paramedics into the conceptbased Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree program. Emphasis is placed on establishing core concepts, roles/responsibilities of the RN, critical thinking/clinical judgment, focuses on adult clients experiencing selected health alterations in diverse populations, and professionalism in a variety of settings.

This course requires synthesis of previous knowledge and skills to provide the foundation for development of the baccalaureate prepared nursing roles as a provider of patient centered care, patient safety advocate, member of the interdisciplinary team, and member of the profession.

This course is designed to promote student readiness for college and careers through a focus on career pathways. Students will have the opportunity to research, analyze, and explore their career and educational plans while they develop and enhance their technology skills. As a significant part of the course, students will design a personalized career research photo essay, a cover letter, and a resume.

This is a developmental level course designed for entering freshmen with priority needs. It provides an overview of key aspects, knowledge, and skills needed in the transition to college life. Students identify their educational goals, personal strengths, and areas for development; become familiar with college resources and services; and briefly explore strategies for academic success such as time management, and study skills. This course is not for college-level credit.

The purpose of this course is to provide the EAGLES students with independent skills involving meal preparation and grocery shopping. These skills help the students transition to an independent lifestyle by learning how to prepare, shop, and cook meals while developing healthy eating habits.

The goal of this course is to teach third and fourth year EAGLES students how to generalize skills they have learned into a community setting. Students have access to almost all their basic needs on a college campus, however, to successfully transition, students need to learn how to access these supports in their community and how to access them independently.
