Covers four years of tuition plus first-year housing; offered to at least one student from every Alabama high school. In-state student at an AL high school; 3.5+ GPA; application and documents by Jan 15; unconditional UA admission.

Waives tuition and instructional fees (with textbook help) for dependents of blind parents; renewable up to four years with annual reapplication. AL resident 5+ years; head of household is blind with family income at or below 1.3x poverty level; attend an AL public college/university/trade school within 2 years of HS graduation and before age 23.

Need-based program helping AL community-college students transfer to and graduate from UA. Graduate HS in AL; earn AA/AS with 3.0 GPA (or 45+ gen-ed hours at 3.0) from an AL community college; transfer in good standing; 25 or younger; FAFSA with partial/full Pell (EFC 3500 or less).

Need-based state grant ranging from $300 to $5,000 per academic year. Undergraduate Alabama residents attending eligible Alabama institutions.

State aid (since 1978) for AL residents attending independent/nonprofit AL postsecondary institutions; not need-based. HS grad or equivalent; undergrad; AL resident per Act 90; U.S. citizen or in process; enrolled full/half-time in an eligible program; satisfactory progress; not pursuing a religious-vocation degree.

Subsidized childcare for working families, families in job training, and those transitioning off public assistance. Helps parents maintain employment.

UA Alumni program (since 1967) rewarding academic and leadership achievement for freshmen, transfers, current undergrads, grad students, and distance learners; most awards open to all students. Annual scholarships across several pilot categories, including emergency maneuver training and an international scholarship, plus research grants and First Wings awards for student pilots. Generally for Ninety-Nines (99s) members and other individuals per program rules.

AVMA/AVMF summer research support for enrolled veterinary students seeking a second summer of research experience. Must have completed a prior summer research project; abstract for the NIH Veterinary Scholars Symposium required; one per school, up to five total.
