Actuarial Science

The actuarial science major will develop and refine a student's analytical skills, while also preparing for a career in the field of risk assessment and management. To be eligible for a job in this industry, candidates must pass a series of actuarial exams. The major curriculum is specifically geared towards preparing students to take up to five exams before receiving their undergraduate degree, creating a competitive advantage in a job search.

Aerospace Engineering

Specialization is accomplished through the series of three final year electives and participation in research projects in fluid mechanics, propulsion, structures and materials and control theory. Emphases are made on viscous flows, real gas and rarefaction effects, combustion, plasma physics, turbomachinery, structural analysis and design, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, stability and control of flight vehicles and orbital mechanics.

African American and African Studies

Arabic

Students studying Arabic progress from an elementary working knowledge of the language toward oral and written proficiency. Once students have mastered the unique writing system of the language, they are gradually introduced to basic patterns of speech and grammar. Biochemistry

Biochemistry studies how molecular structure determines biological function, how molecules recognize each other and how the dynamic chemical changes that occur inside cells are orchestrated.
